I cannot stand being boxed in, locked in or trying to fit my round self into a square hole. I’m not materialistic so clothing, jewelry, brand names and cars do not excite me. The freedom – and possibility – of choosing how I spend my time every day for the rest of my life (employee vs. entrepreneurship) is what excites me.
Though this is what I work for, write for, dream and believe, it is not yet my reality. To compensate, I exercise (and give thanks for) some of the many freedoms I do have in preparation of the ultimate freedom I seek. Creatively I construct new worlds and people through my novels. Personally I wear my hair naturally and eat raw foods (which I will write about in detail later). And I dream in Technicolor – no boundaries, no limits, no conformity!
What would YOUR life look like if you had the freedom you desire? Your dream and definition of freedom may be different than mine, but freedom in some form or another is something I believe we all seek. Who would you be? What would you do? How would your life change?
This month, we are exploring freedom – what it looks like, feels like and how it is expressed in our daily lives. We will be talking about issues like the freedom of forgiveness and how our sense of freedom shapes our experiences in the world, including how it affects our faith and drives our goals.
I look forward to hearing your stories and having conversations about the power of freedom in your lives. You can comment here or on Facebook; tweet me @tray_renea_jay or catch me over on Instagram and Pinterest. Let’s connect!
